Ifor Williams Trailers NZ Atlas Trailers

Ifor Williams Trailers started to trade in New Zealand in 2006. Atlas Trailers, under the ownership and management of Rob and Helen Pooler, approached Ifor Williams Trailers to request a Distributorship opportunity. 

 Rob Pooler had seen a clear gap in the New Zealand market, whereby product quality and consistency of build could not be guaranteed.

 “This lack of repetitive and consistent manufacturing created challenges when sourcing parts for customers; you could never be sure what specification the original customer trailer, had been built to”.

 Rob proceeded to search the world for a brand that he felt he could rely on to serve his customers to the quality standards needed.

 “We spent a lot of time searching the world for a brand that not only manufactured a quality trailer, but also a produced a wide range of trailer models. We meticulously looked for a company, that used superior components and had reliable braking and running gear. Even with the above two design criteria’s fulfilled, what we really wanted, was a trailer that could stand up to the rigors of the New Zealand roads, the New Zealand conditions, and had been tested fully as a whole trailer to perform. It didn’t take long before we had narrowed our search to what we consider the world’s best trailer brand – Ifor William Trailers. Ifor William Trailers are the world-class trailer brand. They are renowned for their manufacturing standards, their durability, their strength, and their consistently high-quality trailers”.

 Rob’s determination to bring Ifor Williams Trailers to New Zealand, won through, and so began the partnership between Atlas Trailers and the Welsh brand, now known in most corners of the world; Ifor Williams Trailers.

 Atlas Trailers are based on an easy drive, 30 mins from Christchurch, on the beautiful South Island of New Zealand. The site from which they operate, contains all the necessary facilities to look after customers to the highest standards. 

Atlas Trailers are a very busy Approved Ifor Williams Trailers Distributorship, holding the full range of Trailer stock and Genuine Parts on their substantially invested site. The Atlas Team are knowledgeable, and are able to advise customers on the specific trailer needed, from the wide range of trailer models offered. With containers leaving Wales on a regular basis, the Atlas Team can procure any trailer type from the factory and are willing to provide customers with an interim solution, until their preferred trailer model arrives.

 “It gave us a great feeling, to arrive on the other side of the world, 11,744 miles from home, in the yard of Rob and Helen Pooler of Atlas Trailers, and see our products tidily displayed for sale. We know the extreme daily care and attention that our Manufacturing team in Wales take, to get our products 100% right in the Assembly sites and so it was uplifting, to see the trailers looking so perfect in the New Zealand winter sunshine, with snow-capped mountains in the background.

 I would have loved to have got our entire team, on a Video Conference at that exact moment in time, so that they could have all shared in the pride of seeing our collective work, landed, and looking amazing, in this great location. If it had not been the middle of the night, I would have done this for sure!

 It was great to witness what Rob’s tenacious approach has achieved and we look forward to working with Rob and the team on many New Zealand ventures in the very near future”.
