The HBE range is a welcome addition to the Ifor Williams family, designed for equestrians seeking a robust, high-quality horse float with sleek, modern styling.
Ideal for transporting two horses up to 16.2hh, the HBE offers an excellent balance of strength and towing ease. Its streamlined design is as practical as it is stylish, making it perfect for both everyday use and long-distance travel.
The HBE range features a deeper GRP roof moulding than the HBX range, and clean, aerodynamic lines, enhancing both the look and performance of the float. The absence of a front ramp also allows for extra space at the front of the horse float, which can be used for an optional tack locker. The tack locker is a practical and secure storage solution for saddles, whips, and other equine necessities, with a lockable door to ensure everything stays safe.
Built for strength and durability, the HBE’s sides, floor and rear ramp are constructed from anodised aluminium planking, making it lightweight yet incredibly strong. This aluminium body provides a modern, easy-to-maintain finish while ensuring the float is easy to tow without sacrificing strength.
The rear ramp offers dual functionality, and can be used as a traditional ramp for secure, stable loading or as a side-hinged door, making cleaning and forklift access to the rear of the trailer more convenient.
With a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 2000kg, the HBE is a lightweight solution that allows for a wide range of towing vehicles. Despite its reduced weight, the trailer maintains excellent strength-to-weight ratio and the solid construction you would expect from an Ifor Williams Trailers product.

One Piece Roof
The stylish roof provides smooth aerodynamic lines, while its one-piece design provides a joint free modern alternative.
Rear Step
Fitted to all HBE trailers, this practical step can take a person’s weight safely and is positioned to help you reach the rear roller blind mesh screen. This is also useful for checking on your horse via the rear aperture.
Parabolic Leaf Spring Suspension
Comes as standard with our Proven Beam Axle and Paraflex™ Spring System.
Front Windows
The two transparent windows at the front of the trailer have an opening mechanism, increasing natural light and giving additional ventilation whilst on the move.
Combined Ramp and Door
The rear ramp offers dual functionality. It operates as a normal ramp, offering a secure, stable and low angled approach entry to the float. It can also be opened as a side-hinged door, making cleaning out the float much more convenient. It also permits convenient forklift access to the rear of the HBE.
Internal Door Lock
Our Grooms Door can be locked for security, but can easily be unlocked and opened from the inside.
Front Panel
The HBE range features a front nose panel which is manufactured from aluminium to provide extra resilience.
Aluminium Floor and Rubber Matting
Comes with our Aluminium Flooring that is then covered with Ribbed-Rubber floor matting.
Breast Bar Release System
In the event of an unfortunate incident, our Breast Bar mounts can be quickly and easily released using the wheel wrench.
Interior LED Light
Our HBE comes fitted with a handy interior light so that loading and unloading in the dark is not an issue.
Side Mounted Spare Wheel
The Spare Wheel is conveniently mounted to the side of the HBE.
Aluminium Side Planks
The sides are built from Aluminium, to provide a safe environment for your horse to travel in comfort.
Centre Partition and Interior Kickboard
The HBE features centre partitions with breast and breeching bars as standard, and interior kickboard to protect your horse.
Rotating Ramp Catches
The ramp is locked into position using a Hooked-Catch and for added safety is then secured closed with a Quick-Release Pin.
Wheels
All Genuine IWT Wheel Assemblies, Wheel Centres and Tyres go through an extensive selection and testing process and are fully compliant with all current road regulations. These are OEM wheel products which we have put through their paces at a leading UK test centre to make certain that they are comfortable on a wide range of terrains, over a prolonged period of time. As such you can be sure that your horse will experience a smooth, safe ride with any of our wheel assemblies fitted.

Alloy Wheels
Give your horse float even more impact by adding a set of exclusive alloy wheels with Ifor Williams Trailers branded centres (four per trailer). Choose from three designs, 6-spoke silver alloys, 8-spoke silver alloys and 8-spoke diamond cut alloys.
Accessories
Various options and accessories are available for your trailer. Some may need to be ordered with your trailer as a factory fit item, while others can be purchased at a later date. Please check with your distributor before ordering.
Tack Locker
It is built into the front nose area of your float and is accessible from the outside through a side locker door. The tack locker is only available on the left-hand side.
Horse and Trailer Camera
The wireless camera system transmits live colour footage from the float interior to the towing vehicle. It comes on a mounting bracket for use with the magnetic base of the camera. The battery is re-chargeable and offers up to 7 hours constant display. Supplied loose, requires fitting.
Stowage Net
Ideal for storing manuals and other small items. Fitted in the front of the float.
Auto Lift Jockey Wheel
The auto-lift jockey wheel removes the need to un-clamp, lift and re-clamp the jockey wheel. The operation is completed by simply turning the handle to raise or lower the jockey wheel without the need to adjust the height position.
Partition and Side Wall Padding
Add specially designed Ifor Williams Trailers padding to the centre partition and side walls of your HBE for added comfort for your horse.
High Level Brake Light
Fitted to the rear roof arch, this optional brake light provides additional warning that the vehicle and float are braking.
Full Width Breast and Breaching Bar
Full width breast and breeching bar for horses that prefer single travel in a wider stall. Centre partitions are removed and full width breast and breeching bars are fitted. (Not available as a padded option.)
Prop Stands
Consider prop stands if your horse requires a particularly steady surface to load. Additional support will reassure nervous horses.
Padded Breast and Breaching Bars
Padded breast and breeching bars are available as an option for the extra comfort of your horse. Full width padded breast and breeching bars are not available.
Horse Float Cover
Protect your horse float from the elements with a waterproof and breathable cover.
Feeding Managers
These mount onto the outside of the tack locker inside the horse float. Only suitable for use while the float is stationary. This accessory can only be used if tack locker option has been specified.
REMOVABLE TACK PACK
Fits neatly into the nose area and is suitable for general purpose saddles up to 18” (46cm). We advise that you check saddles fit before the tack pack is purchased. Available in silver. Not suitable when Tack Locker is selected.
DOOR MOUNTED TACK PACK
Attached to the inspection door, this neat storage solution is capable of storing two saddles and various other items. The fixed tack pack is suitable for general purpose saddles up to 17” (43cm). We advise that you check saddles fit before the tack pack is purchased. Not available when tack locker is selected. Available in cream.
